Pathways is a program for high school students who would like to explore careers in STEAM fields. It introduces students to core areas in the sciences, technology, health, engineering, mathematics, and the arts.
The 2020-2021 academic program will provide the theoretical framework and dynamics of infectious diseases and medical responses from a public health perspective, the historical and contemporary responses to pandemics, and will emphasize the interconnectedness of disciplines in identifying community problems, in creating innovative solutions and developing resilience. Students will explore pandemics from a variety of perspectives, including historical, biological and epidemiological foundations. Upon completion of all program requirements, student receive three hours of college credit.
Pathways is also an opportunity for students to meet new friends who are also interested in learning about and planning for the transition to college.
